Infants exposure to give atmosphere

The breathing of a sheer atmosphere is at all times, and under all circumstances, vital to the health of the baby. The greenhouse thus should be big, easily ventilated, in a raised region of the home, and then situated as to acknowledge an available supply both of atmosphere and light. For the same reasons, the room in which the baby sleeps should be big, and the atmosphere often renewed; for nothing is then detrimental to its health as sleeping in an impure and hot air. The use, thus, of drawing dense curtains intimately round the sheet is extremely insidious; they simply respond a helpful aim when they protect the baby from any draught of cool atmosphere.

The appropriate moment for taking the baby into the available atmosphere must, of class, be determined by the season of the year, and the country of the weather."A fragile baby born recently in the autumn will not mostly derive reward from being carried into the available atmosphere, in this mood, till the succeeding spring; and if the rooms in which he is kept are big, frequently changed, and easily ventilated, he will not sustain from the restraint, while he will, almost likely, flee catarrhal affections, which are then frequently the effect of the injudicious vulnerability of infants to a cool and wet air. " If, however, the kid is powerful and robust, no chance should be lost of taking it into the available atmosphere at stated periods, experience regular proving that it has the almost stimulating and vivifying force upon the structure. Regard, however, must ever be had to the country of the weather; and to a wet circumstance of the air the baby should never be exposed, as it is one of the almost strong interesting causes of consumptive disease. The nurse-maid, overly, should not be allowed to lounge and lurk about, therefore exposing the baby unnecess.
